We left San Francisco at 8 am. It took us about an hour to go through the Bay and finally exit out to the Pacific Ocean under the Golden Gate Bridge. We had incredible views of the city and passed by Alcatraz. Shortly after passing under the bridge we spotted a whale, saw a few spouts and a tail fluke. Now we will spend 24 hours transiting back south to Point Conception, where leg 1 left off.
